About SBI Funds Management Limited
Asset Management / Mutual Fund
Incorporated in 1992, SBI Funds Management has served as the investment manager to SBI Mutual Fund since the fund's launch in 1987, making it one of the oldest asset managers in the Indian market. The company reported total QAAUM of approximately ₹29.46 lakh crore as of March 31, 2026, holding a mutual fund market share of around 15.3 percent, the highest among Indian AMCs.
The company's ownership reflects its dual parentage: State Bank of India holds roughly 61.9 percent and Amundi India Holding, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amundi Asset Management, holds about 36.3 percent, combining SBI's domestic banking and distribution reach with Amundi's global asset management expertise. This structure gives SBI Funds Management access to SBI's YONO platform, used by over 100 million customers, alongside Amundi's international fund management capabilities.
The product suite spans equity, debt, hybrid, exchange-traded funds, index funds, liquid funds, portfolio management services, alternative investment funds, and offshore advisory mandates. The company holds a leading position in passive fund management and in systematic investment plans, with over 16 million live SIP accounts as of March 2026.
Distribution runs through more than 1,32,000 individual and institutional mutual fund distributors, 95 banking partners including SBI's branch network, and digital channels such as the InvesTap mobile app. The company has a notably low operating expense ratio relative to peers, a structural advantage tied to its scale.
